My younger brother, Trevor passed away on August 12 th-2010. I was devastated to hear the news. I still feel like we are all in shock. He was 29 years old and left behind 4 amazing boys 6 yrs and younger and an incredible wife who he adored.

Our family and friends gather together in Spokane, WA for the funeral on Saturday the 21st. On Friday the 20th, we had a Remembrance Gathering for friends and family to gather and remember so many amazing memories and so many ways Trevor had blessed each of our lives. There was a slide show and tons of pictures put together to remember all of the good times.

The next day hundreds gathered for Trevor's funeral service. It was so nice to have so many people who loved Trevor there. The eulogy was full of stories and examples of times in Trevor's life when he showed compassion and optimism. Stories of him being an actively involved dad and loving husband. These stories were inspiring and uplifting. I want to serve others how Trevor did. He always looked for ways to help people. Often the people he helped were homeless.

He loved life and was the most optimistic person I have ever known. At the cemetery there were bag pipes playing. My dad dedicated the grave with so much love for Trevor. Afterwards we all let hundreds of balloons go at the same time. It was heart wrenching to watch the balloons disappear. But as I thought about Trevor and all the joy he had for life I could picture him grabbing all of those balloons. He loved everyone and everything about life!

CARSON and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Carson entered the reading fair at his school. He read the chapter book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. He was sooo excited to see the movie when it came out. Then he was required to make a poster describing his book.

He had great ideas and really enjoyed making his poster. Right away he knew he wanted to make meatballs out of cotton balls and hang them from cotton clouds. He was creative and thought of fun ideas. Carson made a hamburger out of pipe cleaners. He drew fantastic characters. I helped him a little with the hot glue gun.

Carson was all smiles when I picked him up from school the day of the fair. He told me he won. Earlier that day Easton had passed out and had a small seizure due to a bad reaction to the flu shot, so I was relieved to get the good news about him winning when Carson's teacher called. The school asked if we planned on continuing in the competition. I said of course. I knew Carson would be so happy.

Well the competition continued at a regional reading fair in Jackson MS ( 2 and half hours away) this past Friday. I took Carson, his poster, Ty and Bo to the competition. As soon as we walked in I knew we were way way out of our league. Lots of kids were in costumes to match their books and their posters were AMAZING! I could not believe it. I was worried Carson was going to feel bad. Judges came by while we waited for a couple of hours. We had a 2 hour break. When we came back Carson was so worried that we were going to miss the winners being read while we were in the bathroom. I honestly thought that it would be fine to miss hearing because I thought there was NO Way he was going to win.

Sure enough when it came to his Division they read 3rd place and 2nd place and then

CARSON SAINSBURY 1st place WINNER!!!!!!

I was shocked and so excited for Carson. He was thrilled! This means we are moving on to the State Competition in Jackson held in May. What a great Day for Carson! He chose a Shaun White shirt from Target for his prize. He loves those shirts! All the way home Carson and I just could not believe he won. Life is Fun!

Pinewood Derby

With 5 boys Bob has sure made a lot of pinewood derby cars. Robby and Carson designed their cars. East, Ty and Bo all used cars from last year but got new paint jobs. I was incharge of decorating so I borrowed decorations from a friend at church who builds race car engines. His stuff sure made the church look like a real race. It was a great night. Robby won 1st place and Carson won 2nd place.

Catching up on some Summer Birthdays!

EASTON turned 6!
He chose to go to the movies with some friends. We saw "UP". He had a great Birthday.

BOWEN turned 2! He had a "cars" party. He was so excited. I can't believe our baby is 2. This is the first time our baby has ever been 2 because we have always had a new baby by the time someone turned 2. We had Box Car Races.

Once your 2 you get your own shaved ice. Bo was thrilled to have his own.

Amanda turned 33. I still feel like I'm 23. We went to Georgia to see friends on my Birthday. I was spoiled.

It was so great to be with Carson's best friend, Kory for his 8th birthday and baptism. So many boys!

Barrel Horse Races and Vet School Petting Zoo

So we went to the Horse Park to watch the Barrel Races. My boys loved it. They wanted to dress like cowboys. So we found the closes to cowboy outfits we could find. I love going to all of the events in our college town.

Bowen enjoyed the petting zoo more than anyone. He could have stayed there all day. He calls most animals Scout. (Scout is Em and Matts dog)

Mississippi State University VET School had an open house. There was a cow named Peaches that was eating grass. While she eats we stuck our arm in her stomach....."Holey Cow!" It was real warm and full of chewed grass. You wear a glove. Kinda creepy kinda cool.

We spent Christmas in Arizona at Emily and Matt's. We had an amazing time. Emily had a list of about 100 things/events to do while we were there. We hiked, 4 wheeled, played at parks, toured chocolate factory, went to 4 drive in movies, had danced parties, played games, taught kids to ride bikes, toured the lights, watched motorcross, did cabellas, shopped til we dropped, baked goodies, and ate bob's cooking just about every night.

Bob turned 32! He is such a great sport having his birthday 2 days before Christmas.

It is official we are a 2 car....I mean van family. We flew to AZ and bought a 2008 ford 12 passenger van. I'm not joking! No we are not planning on having 5 more kids we just needed more space in between the kids we already have. We love it. It's kinda ghetto to have a giant van but there was no way we were going to survive in our minivan. We had been a single van family for about 4 and half years. I drove Bob to and from the bus every day. If we missed the bus or he had late class I loaded up the boys and headed 45 minutes downtown Atlanta to pick him up. We spent alot of time in the minivan. Wow my life has changed because Bob can drive himself to work. I sure do appreciate having an extra vehicle. I'm grateful for the extra 30 minutes in the morning and evening. We are sooooo blessed.

On Thanksgiving we had my brother, Trevor and his family and the O'donnell family over. We had a great day of yummy food, crafts, dancing and of course a fire.

The boys have been wanting to build a fort FOREVER..... now that we have our own backyard the boys found the perfect fallen tree to build around.

It is amazing what $12 dollars worth of ply wood will do for five busy boys. They had all week off for Thanksgiving and spent many hours outside doing what boys do best.....climbing, collecting fire wood, digging holes, and just getting dirty.

Mississippi State FANS

We are now Mississippi State University Fans..... when you live in the South in a small College town that is just what you do. Some of Bob's co-workers rounded up enough tickets for our whole family to go to a game. It was a lot of fun. Some of the boys enjoyed it more than others. Fans ring cow bells extremely loud at the games. We could not believe the tailgating scene at every game. Fans set up 24 hours before the game.

Ty goes in phases with wanting his picture taken or not. I have had to leave portrait studios with no picture more than once with him throwing a huge fit. So when he is in the mood I love it .....he is just too cute to not have his picture taken. Bowen has been such a fun baby. He talks more than any of the others did at his age. (He walked way, way later than all of the others). I can't say no when he asks, "Please Please"!

Robby and Carson played flag football this fall. I think it has been my favorite sport to watch. They learned alot and had a really fun season!

We are in Starkville and loving it.

Our first weekend in Mississippi, a storm came through and blew down 3 trees in our yard. Bob got to buy a chainsaw and the boys had a great time watching the action. They had chairs and drinks and some even got to help clean up the mess.

The boys like the new bath tub, especially the jets.

We didn't like some of the residents in the back yard when we moved in. This is a picture of the first of 8 black widows we found. We used more pest control in the last 2 monthes than we did in 4 years in Atlanta.

This is us at the Noxabee wildlife refuge. The refuge here is more like a wild animal holding area for hunters, since hunting and fishing are more than welcome here. I don't think this is how it works in Washington.

There was a fun boardwalk going through a swamp that everyone ususally sees alligators in. We didn't see any alligators, but we also weren't being very quiet.

This is as close as we could get to smile. He was fine once he got to school, and having Carson there with him helps a lot.

Mount Rushmore

We had been driving all day and got to rapid city and all the hotel rooms were taken. So we had to drive another 30 minutes to mount rushmore that night. It was late, the room was small and it took everybody a long time to go to sleep. The hotel did not have breakfast so everyone was tired and hungry and not in a very good mood. But since we were there, we decided to pay the $10 dollar parking fee to see the monument. We hiked up to the viewing area and asked someone to take our picture and the picture above is what we got. I love the pile of rocks behind us. It reminds of the greatness of our country and leaders. I took the picture below and will photoshop them together as soon as we aren't 3 months behind on our posts.

Yeah this is about 3 months late, but we thought we should still put these up.

You would think Grandpa would know better than to give Easton a bb gun, but nobody was permanantly injured and I still say there were too many birds there to begin with.

There was some dry wood and matches so of course Bob decided to make a fire. It was only 100 degrees out and the smokey the bear sign said it was still one step away from extreme fire danger, so perfect fire weather.

We spent some time at the beach on lake wenatchee.

Lake wenatchee is by stevens pass in the cascade mountains. It would take about 15 minutes in the sun to work the tolerance for 1 minute in the water.

Uncle Tom was nice enough to set up a water park in his backyard and all the cousins had a lot of fun. This was about an hour before the whole hospital excitement.

Easton's head met an easton bat....

...and Easton's head definately got the worst of it. We are in Utah on our way to Washington, and two days ago we went to a park to meet some friends, who were having a work party. They had a pinata and invited our boys to do it with them. Unfortunately, they only had an aluminum bat, made by the easton company, and when a girl broke open the pinata and the other kids ran in to get the candy, she swung one more time and hit Easton in the head. Easton started crying right away, and an EMT who was there started to check him out. When Easton couldn't move his left arm or leg, we got him to our van, gave him a blessing and got him to a hospital.

He had a thin fracture in his head and some bleeding inside of it
He was being so brave while they did a CT scan, started an IV, and even when they strapped him onto a backboard and
Loaded him onto the lifeflight helicopter. His parents were trying very hard to be as brave as Easton was.
He had a short flight on the helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City....
... and a very long night in the Intensive care unit with an uncomfortable neck brace. He threw up three times, but couldn't drink anything to get the taste out, since they thought he may have a neck injury. The Mickey doll the hospital gave him really helped to calm him down.

Once he got the neck brace off sunday morning, Easton started getting better much faster. Monday morning he stopped throwing up and began acting almost normal. He got to go out in a mini wheelchair to a fun play room and outside to see some fountains.

He even got to hang out with the US ski team, making buttons, getting their autographs and making them laugh. He was feeling so good, he remembered his brothers and made each of them a button too.

We want to thank everyone for all your thoughts, calls and prayers. We feel very blessed for how this all turned out. The doctors and nurses were so good to Easton and our whole family.

We went to Tom and Vera's house for dinner a couple of weeks ago and then to the park afterwards. Trevor and Amanda were there too. Tom got on the spinning wheel and Trevor made sure he had a wild ride. We are really going to miss all our friends when we moved later this month.

Robby and Carson have been very busy doing swim team every morning and have had a swim meet once a week. They were not sure about it at first, but once the pool warmed up a little and they got used to the routine they have started loving it. They are getting better very fast and it is fun to watch them improve.

Well, we accepted the offer from Mississippi State University this week and went to Starkville looking for a house. We loved one of the houses we saw and have an offer on it. We took all these pictures so anybody that wanted to could see. We'll let you know how it turns out by 5:00 pm today!

Carson loves Waffle House so much we are almost regulars. Just kidding. 8 times in 4 years is not nearly enough to be regulars. He does like it a lot though and when Grandma Carol sent money for Carson to choose a restaraunt there was no question where we were going. They even played a special Waffle House version of Happy Birthday for him. How many of you can say that?

Spring Break

There was a free day at the childrens muesum in Atlanta during the boys' spring break. Unfortunately about 5,000 people came down at the same time. Instead of waiting in a line outside the muesum the boys played in the fountains.
Ty did not want to get in at first.
He eventually changed his mind.
The boys were a little crazy after a week at home, so they decided to play out in the rain and mud. Ty apparently thought the camera was going to steal his soul.
Carson had fun babysitting Trevor and Amanda's little girl Kennedy. She was not used to so many little boys running around.

Easter

We attempted to take pictures after church when the boys' were coming down off a sugar high. This was the best of about 10 trys. You don't want to see the rest.

Mississippi State University

You may have thought piggly wiggly's were only in movies like win a date with Tad Hamilton. You were wrong.
This is the Veternary Science building, one of the largest buildings on campus. It is next to about 250 acres of farmland and pastures they use to study cows, horses, plants, trees etc.
The other side of this road is the main campus and stadium. I didn't want to drop the camera trying to get a picture of the campus while going 50 mph down this road, so you get to see these trees.
This is the back of the church in West Point.
Here is the front. The chapel doubles as the gym and at least 15 people of the 100 or so people there on sunday came up to me and introduced themselves. I think there are at least 7 or 8 professors at the college in the ward as well as a bunch of young married students.
This is one building on campus. Most buildings look very similar and they are all made with the red bricks.
These are some of the faculty houses that we could rent for around $600 a month, for up to three years if we moved here.

This is Bob, posting from Starkville Mississippi, after a full day of presentations, interviews and meals with the information systems department here. Everything went very well and I expect to here back from them next week. I think I have a very good chance at getting an offer and have had a very nice experiance with the department, at the local ward and in the town. The Sainsbury's could be going to delaware! I mean Mississippi! (Try and spell that fast)

Disney World Last day

We ate breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at the polynesian resort that last day of our trip. We were already tired from 4 days in the parks and the night before we spent about 4 hours waiting for Carson to pick a souvenir. He couldn't decide between a hat, a towel, little action figures, mickey in jedi clothes, some monkeys on a rope, a pirates of the caribean blanket and just about anything else in the store. He went with the Pirates blanket and if you ever see it please compliment him on it, he is still trying to decide if he made the right decision. Anyway, after the long day we were laying down and thinking about the drive home when grandpa Bob reminded us it was daylight savings time and we were losing an hour. We did not make our 7:30 am reservation the next morning.

Bob had been worried about the prevelence of creepy people in the character costumes at disney, but out of all of them on stitch seemed a little bit off. He freaked out Tyler and took grandma Marlies' glasses, but the other boys loved it.

By the end of our trip we had learned a few things

- 50 cents ponchos are worth much more in a thunderstorm

- Double check your diaper bag for diaper before entering a park

- Carson and Easton will ride on any roller coaster they can get on

- Robby will not ride on anything but the jungle rapids ride

- Early march is a good time to go to Disney, not many spring break kids from colleges and the weather was pretty nice

- Tornado warnings are good for keeping the crowds out of Disney parks, just don't listen to the news and you don't need to worry about all day

- Check to make sure there are no cheerleading competitions and change plans if the bus you are on suddenly fills up with a squad from minnesota. 1 squad is cute = 500 squads can kill you

- Bring extra clothes for after the river ride, the disney people are really strict about public indecency for some reason

- Grandpa Bob and Grandma Marlies made all the difference in the world, ask them early and they might be able to go with you too

- Fast passes and baby swaps are great, we never waited more than 20 minutes

Disney World 3rd day - Disney Hollywood Studios

The boys loved star tours and all the star wars stuff around it. They even got to watch a Jedi training class and learned some new moves.

There was a fun animation tour that Robby really wanted to see. At the end, they taught you how to draw a Disney character, which Carson and Robby loved.

We ended our day with the Fantasmic show. It had been a long day, especially since there was about 25,000 cheerleaders in the park for a competition. There were little 5 year olds and high school teams and rude coaches and way to much cheering/screaming. We did get to ride on an Aerosmith rollercoaster that Carson and all the adults loved, and everybody liked the stunt show. Easton watched all the car chases, explosions, fake guns, jet skis and a man on fire, then asked us if he could do it. He thought is was a ride and that everybody got a turn.

Disney World 2nd day - Animal Kingdom

Disney World - first and second day

When we moved to Georgia (almost 4 yrs ago) we told the boys we would go to Disney World when Bob was graduating............so a week ago we drove to Orlando and did Disney for 4 days. Bob's parents were able to meet us there. It was so fun to see them and to have some extra help.

This is us before eating at Crystal Palace, and about 30 minutes from a very large thunderstorm. Thank goodness for 50 cent ponchos from the dollar store.

This is the 2nd of about 10 trips on splash mountain for Easton and Carson. They would have gone for 20 but none of the adults wanted to get wet again.

Pinewood derby

We just had Robby's first pinewood derby and all the boys had fun. The younger guys even got to race some old cars. They are all very excited for scouts, especially with Amanda being Robby's den mother.

Science Fair

Last weekend the boys (Bob included) had fun with the fort they built. The younger boys would hide inside while the older boy would throw toilet paper rolls at them. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, and this game lasted until everyone except Robby had nailed either their head or knee on the sofa legs. You can see in this picture that the legs are large chunks of wood and are at just the right height for knocking Tyler out.

I got to go see one of my girls from young women's senior night. She's a great cheerleader and will be at BYU in the Fall. She is talking with the coaches about cheering there.

Snow in Atlanta

It snowed last week in Atlanta and everyone had a lot of fun. Even Bowen got to go outside for a little while, and Bob got to build a snowman when he got home from work. The snow was gone by the time we woke up the next day, but that did not stop the mall from closing early or about 50 baptist churches from canceling their services two days later.

Bowen and Ty

Ty and Bowen get to hang out together while their brothers are at school. Bowen is either teething or was born with too many saliva glands. He leaves a trail like a slug behind wherever he goes.

Sue, the school nurse......

I'm well acquainted with Sue, the school nurse. She called Friday afternoon at 1:30. The first thing that came to my mind was that Carson was throwing up because he had earlier that week. She said that she had Robby in her room because he had got hurt at recess. His class was playing freeze tag and he and another little boy collided. Robby's teeth hit his friends head. There was lots of blood. Robby's lip was cut, but his tooth was still in place. (he knocked out his baby tooth when he was 2) Unfortunately, his friend had to get 10 stitches.

Robby's Baptism

Robby was baptized on November 3rd, and we all had a great time. Grandma and Grandpa Sainsbury got to come along with a lot of Robby's friends.

Robby really liked Carson's prayer during the meeting, and had fun with his friends afterwards. We are so proud of Robby.

Winter Camping

Bob, Robby and Carson got to go winter camping with the varsity scouts last week. It was 18 degrees in Atlanta, and about 8 degrees where they were staying. There was a fire of course, and the river was incredibly cold, but one young man jumped in after someone promised him $40.

I have no middle name and don't really know the rules of the tag .......

1. Sports: I love to play sports especially soccer and flag football. I used to play on any intramural team I could when we were at BYU. I even played b-ball and flag football when I was pregnant with Robby. Now that I'm 31 and have 5 boys the only sports I get to play are in our backyard and at the park with my boys.

2. Parades: I really like going to Parades! When we were in Utah this Summer I insisted that we went to the 24th of July Parade in SLC. Emily and I packed up all the kids and had a great time. We were able to see Pres. Hinckley waving at everyone. I have been to tons of parades in Provo, Orem, SLC, Spokane, and now Kennesaw, GA. (I think I get this from my mom)

3. Organized Toys: I am very particular when it comes to my kids toys. Every toy belongs in a particular bin or rubbermaid container. Just the thought of leggos mixing with blocks or cars mixing with star wars guys is enough to drive me crazy!

4.Fu nny Jobs:. When I was 19 Charisa (my best friend from home)and I moved to SanDiego to sell Pest Control. We worked with 10 guys in our office. We didn't make the money we thought we would, but wow we worked really hard and had a good time meeting lots of people.
While I was at BYU, I worked with Emily(my sister) at Sams Club. Everyone called us the "Stephenson Sisters" and talked about how fast we walked and worked. (we weren't messing around).
I worked at Youth Corrections for 5 years before I had Carson and quit. I did everything from; drug testing, running drug groups, supervising youth in work crews and classrooms, explorer scouts, scheduling the part time staff, taking youth to court and lots of other random things. I loved that job.
Before we left BYU, I worked as a Hall Advisor at Taylor Hall. We lived in a 1 bedroom apt. next to 240 freshmen girls. Robby and Carson loved it! We had to move when Easton was born.

5. Hippy Chick: In High School and my freshmen year in college my nick name was "Hippy Chick". My mom gave me her old record player in High School and I would listen to her old records like, "Peter Paul, and Mary". I just loved life and had way too much energy. I would dress up crazy to go to the Stake Dances and at the Rick's dances. I was always up for everything. I was friends with every kind of person. I wish I still had all of that energy.......

6. Wild Boys: "Are they all yours?" That's the question I get asked most. Of course they are....do people think that I take my 2 kids and their 3 friends to Walmart or to the dollar movies. I love having 5 wild boys. We have lots of fun and entertain all who are watching along the way.

7. Outdoors: I grew up in Spokane, WA. My family spent family home evening nights boating at a tiny lake about 20 minutes from our house in the Summer and Skiing at Mt. Spokane on $5.00 Night Skiing in the Winter. I love camping and being in the outdoors!

Christmas

This is christmas eve and christmas day of our first christmas away from our families. We had a lot of fun and Carson helped us get up plenty early to open presents.

Grandparents trip to Tennessee

Bob's parents came to visit last month for Robby's baptism and we all got to go up to Tennessee and see the Aquarium, Ruby Falls and Rock City.

Ty's Black Eye

October 17th was Robby's birthday, and while Amanda and the boys were at the park, Ty tripped and hit his cheek on a stair. His face looked like that for about a month and he got a lot of stares when we went out.

In July we went to Utah for Grandma and Grandpa Warne's homecoming from their mission in the Philippines. They looked great! It was a huge reunion. We had not been back to Utah in 3 years. We decided to make the 27hour drive out west. Bowen was only 6 weeks old. It was a little crazy but we survived and had a great trip!!!
